Imagine…
Activities designed by Kathleen (our amazing Director of Leisure Services) specifically to promote a healthy mind, healthy body, and healthy spirit.
For the Healthy Mind
The Peninsula offers beautifully maintained gardens to relax in, a wide veranda for enjoying the scenery, an extensive library with a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction, large print and books-on-tape, puzzles, TV area, games room, computer station, talks on ancient history, and various activity oriented games to stimulate the mind.
For the Healthy Body
There is a wellness centre with a treadmill, exercise bicycle and free weights, an in-house salon, yoga, chair massage, exercise classes, bean bag toss, carpet bowling, walking trails, and senior friendly downtown Sidney is a short stroll away.
For the Healthy Spirit
Regular outings in The Peninsula’s bus include trips into Sidney, Brentwood Bay, Royal Oak, Victoria for shopping, theatre productions, scenic drives, afternoons at the casino, and luncheons out at our lovely local café’s and restaurants. Back at The Peninsula, residents enjoy regular musical guests, sherry nights, themed dinner parties, monthly birthday parties, movie afternoons, crafting, and chime classes (to name just a few!).
Residents can also take part in our “Young and Restless” group. Once a month The Sidney Elementary kindergarten class comes to join our residents and together they create craft “magic” and in doing so bridge the gap between our seniors and children. During the time the children are visiting us, they make hats, do sing-a-longs, have stories read to them, draw, and learn about animals. Their visits are sometimes theme specific, such as the annual Easter egg hunt, masks for Halloween, and Christmas carols. The experiences have been described as “joyful and educational” for both groups!
Finally, there is also a guest suite for your friends and family to stay in when they come to see you.
All of the above plus warm, caring and well-trained staff means that your life at The Peninsula can truly be as busy or as serene as you would like. The options are all here, the choices are up to you.
At The Peninsula, when you leave your house, we offer you a home.

I love all the activities, especially the bus trips. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly.
